Hamtaro (とっとこハム太郎, Tottoko Hamutarō, 'Trotting Hamtaro') is a Japanese children's manga and storybook series created and illustrated by Ritsuko Kawai. The manga is serialized in Shogakukan's all girl's magazine Ciao in 1997, focusing on a hamster named Hamtaro who has a variety of adventures with other hamsters, known as 'Ham-Hams' ('Hamuchans' in the Japanese version). VIZ Media published the manga adaptations and storybooks in English.
Multiple anime adaptations were produced by TMS Entertainment and aired on TV Tokyo. The first series was dubbed in English by The Ocean Group.

He dreamt that a Hamster in some sort of a strange devil costume was ruining love for all of the hamsters. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH he is headed straight for Hamtaro!!
He awakes to find Boss calling him. When Boss gets upstairs Hamtaro explains the strange dream that he had to Boss with a strange and scared expression on his face. 'Maybe it's a dream about the future' Said Boss joking. He then brings Hamtaro downstairs. Hamtaro slips on an envelope and falls into a pail of water, and so does his Ham Ham Dictionary!
Most of Hamtaro's Hamchat words were washed away. With almost no sympathy for Hamtaro, Boss tells him to be more cautious and to learn from his careless mistakes. He then tells Hamtaro the four basic Hamchat words and demonstrates them. He then tells Hamtaro that Bijou has wandered off somewhere.
He claims to be too busy to find Bijou on his own and of course he asks Hamtaro to help him out. Hamtaro scurries off to Sunny Peak and begins his adventure. 2. The Ham Hams Hamtaro: Hamtaro is the cute and cuddly pet of Laura Haruna. He is a member of the Ham Ham Gang and is friends with all of the hamsters at the clubhouse. Bijou: Bijou is a French hamster, who secretly has a crush on Hamtaro!
She will teach you a couple of ham chat words. You are able to control her at a certain point in Boo Manor. Boss: Boss is the leader of the gang. He made the clubhouse and the many tunnels that lead to it. Snoozer: Snoozer is the sleepiest guy you'll ever meet. You can return to the clubhouse when you are stuck to talk to this sleepy fellow. Harmony: Harmony is the all love hamster that helps you on your journey to get rid of that evil Spat.
She will tell you his current location. Every time your love meter goes up a level go to Harmony to learn a new Hamchat word. Spat: Spat is an all evil hamster bent on destroying love for all hamsters. He wears a devil costume with wings.
Seamore: Seamore is the only Hamster out of the group that can swim. He says that the turtle shell he wears helps him swim. He also works in the photo studio. Barrette: Barrette is a fun loving hamster that wears a barrette. She works at the photo studio with Seamore. Cappy: Cappy has a love for well, Caps! Any shape, size, or color and Cappy loves it!
Postie: Postie is the delivery ham. He can help you on your journey. Pashmina: Her scarf is her one treasure. She is also Penelope's older sister and friend.
Penelope: Penelope is Pashmina's younger sister. But Penelope is so little that all she can say is 'Ookwee.' Dexter: Dexter is always picking a fight with Howdy. It's usually about who Pashmina likes better. Howdy: Howdy's jokes are absolutely horrible. He just can't help himself when it comes to Pashmina, even though she never notices them.
Oxnard: Without Pepper by his side he's a complete mess. If he were to ever lose his sunflower seed he would definitely cry! Pepper: Pepper is the brave hamster that lives on Kona's Uncle's farm. Panda: If you ever have a broken item give it to Panda he'll fix it right away.
Seedric: Seedric wears an acorn cap that he made himself. He's absolutely crazy about acorns. He'll trade you sunflower seeds for them. Maxwell: Sometimes Maxwell may be so caught up in his book that he may not even notice you! Elder Ham: He always has a story to tell and it always ends with him falling asleep.
Sandy: This ribbon dancing, tomboy keeps her flirting brother in line. Stan: Look out female hamsters!! Stan will only have a good time if there are girls around. Jingle: Jingle speaks in song and sometimes it can take a while before you understand what he's trying to tell you. Broski: The ocean is the only place for Broski. Walkthrough Lets Begin! Sunny Peak Part 1 When you first enter Sunny Peak walk forward and you will see Bijou.
She will walk off the screen and then scream. Walk over to the area where you saw Bijou. You will notice that the bushes are rustling use 'Stickie' on them to learn 'Blushie.'
Walk to the right to see that a giant bolder has crashed down next to Bijou. Walk left and up and you will see two hamsters deep in thought. Tell them 'Hamha' and then 'Tack-Q' They will try to teach you 'Hamlift' but you can't learn it without a partner. So, go up the log steps.
Before you talk to Oxnard go to the tree stump to learn 'Heyhoo' from the hamster in the distance. You will see Oxnard crying. Tell him 'Hamha' to learn that Pepper is mad at him, he will also teach you 'Bluhoo.' Go to the right and step on the handkerchief. A hamster will come and yell at you for stepping on her handkerchief, She will also teach you 'Gogo.' Go to the next screen and come back and step on the newspaper, she will lecture you again. Come back a third time and step on the strap, she will be mad and tell you off again but this time you made the strap dirty so, she will give it to you.
Hamtaro Ham Ham Heartbreak Ham Chat
After this 'Tack-Q' the tree and an acorn will fall out, 'Hif-hif' it and go to the right. You will see a hamster in the bushes. Say 'Hamha' he will not hear you so you must 'Hif-hif' him. He will then take your acorns and trade you seeds for them. You can come back anytime to do this.
Go to the right and you will see a young hamster sitting by a door to a cave, say 'Hamha' and he will mistake you for his brother Arnie. Then climb down the vine and you will see Pepper sitting on a sunflower leaf, ignore her for now. Go down the next vine and walk to the left. Say 'Hamha' then 'Lookie' to the hamster there.
He is actually Arnie. Arnie will tell you he's looking for something. Then he will teach you 'Pakapaka' and tell you that Bijou is stuck behind a boulder.
Now go to the right and get in the boat. Then use 'Pakapaka.' You will float down the river and pass Bijou. Talk to the hamster where the boat stopped. He will ask you if it would be fun to ride in.
Then he will tell you that you need something to power the boat with. He will also teach you 'Putput.' Go to the left where you will see a swan swimming in the water. Go to the brown patch near the swan and yell 'Heyhoo.' Seamore will pop up and tell you that he needs you to 'Offdoff' the plastic swan stuck to his back. It turns out that the swan is actually a training seat!
Seamore thinks it's funny and decides to hold onto it for a while. Now walk to the battery that you walked over to cross the river. Use 'Offdoff' and walk back to where you left the boat. Now use 'Putput' when you get in the boat.
The battery fits! Now drive over to Bijou to rescue her. She will tell you that you need to help Oxnard and Pepper get back together again.
She will also teach you 'Mega-Q' She will follow you for the rest of the game from now on. Get back in the boat and go to the hamster that taught you 'Putput.' Say 'Hamha and he will teach you 'Bestest.' Now go to the hamsters that tried to teach you 'Hamlift' before. You will now be able to learn this word. Say 'Heyhoo' or 'Tack-Q' to the pink hamster and you will learn 'Hamlift.' Now go back to where you saw Pepper and use 'Hamlift.'
Agree to listen to her story, and then say 'Bluhoo.' Pepper will teach you 'Oopsie' she will also say something about a hamster named Spat. Then she will run off to Oxnard.
You will automatically be transported to Oxnard. After they thank you they will teach you 'Gossip-P.' They're love has been saved! Begin to walk back to the clubhouse. Spat will come and knock Hamtaro over and yell at you for saving their love.
He will also admit to breaking them up. Then he introduces himself and says that he plans to ruin love for all hamsters.
Then he'll run off. After this Bijou will teach you 'Smoochie.' You will be transported to the clubhouse only to meet Harmony. She will tell you that Spat is a bad hamster and she needs Hamtaro and Bijou to fill up the love meter by saving more hamsters relationships.
There are still hamsters to help at Sunny Peak. Go to the hamster that said that he was looking for something for his little brother.
Say 'Hamha' and he will ask you to help him find his brothers training seat. Go back to the clubhouse and go inside the photo room. Tell Seamore 'Lookie' and he will give you the training seat. Go back to Arnie, he will notice you right away and ask you for the training seat. Say 'Yep-P' to Arnie. He will walk off.
Go back to where you saw the young hamster waiting for Arnie, they will teach you 'Sesam- E.' Walk on top of the feather on the ground and say 'Hamha' to get the song Condors Wings, 'Hif-hif' it, then say 'Sesam-E' in front of the door and enter the cave.
Go straight and to the left twice, then read the sign and go up to the peak. You've lost Bijou, and Arnie's little brother is in her place. He will begin to cry. Go right to the hamswap seller.
She will offer you bananas, a rattle and, Paltry Tear Source. This item is funny, buy it and see what happens. Say 'No-P' when he asks if you're buying. He will lower the price. Now say 'Yep-P' and buy the rotten bananas. Go to the left and stand in front of the monkey. Say 'Yep-P' when he asks for the bananas.
Go right and then come back. Slip on the banana peel to make Arnie's brother laugh and stop crying. Now 'Hif-hif' the rock and the note under it, you can come back for the rocks inside later. Go back to where the Peak 5 and Base 4 sign is.
Arnie's brother will give you directions to his house. Go left, down, left, up, up and then say 'Sesam-E' when you get to the door. Not long after he will cry because he can't find Arnie, walk over to him and Arnie will come in with Bijou! Arnie and his brother will teach you 'Hamigos.' You and Bijou will be reunited and Arnie's love for his brother reunites them! Another loved saved.
Leave the room and then go right and buy the oilcan from the Hamswap seller. Go back to where you first entered the cave. Do you see the lever on the floor?
Walk over to it and use 'Putput' Then press A. This will move the lever to the other side. Go to where the Hamswap seller was when you had Arnie's brother.
Use 'Putput' then 'Gogo' on the mine car. You will go into a hidden room where two hamsters will teach you 'Rubrub.' 'Hif-hif' the rocks here then 'Gogo' in the mine cart to return to the entrance. Do you remember where the hamsters that taught you 'Hamlift' are? You will find out that the pink hamster is missing.
Go back to where the mine cart is, this time climb up the rope next to the mine cart. You will see the pink hamster tied up, and you will also see Spat.
Tell him 'Hamigos' until he 'falls' off the bridge. Unfortunately his costume has wings and he flies up and away from the bridge, promising that you wont stop him. The pink hamster pushes off the handkerchief covering his mouth. You must go over to him and 'Pakapaka' the ropes so that he can be free. He will then teach you 'Liber-T.'
You automatically follow him. They teach you 'Lovedove' and the blue hamster impresses the pink one and the couple is together again. Now walk down and come back up again and say 'Hamha' to the pink hamster to learn 'Bloat-T.' Now return to the clubhouse. You will see Seamore show Boss a love letter for Barrette from Broski. Barrette is not in the clubhouse and you can guess why!
Go upstairs and talk to Harmony to learn Spats current position. She will tell you that he's headed for Sandy Bay.
You may have noticed a new room; it is called the 'Rubrub' room. You can bring your rocks here and have them polished so that they turn into gems! Well, off to Sandy Bay! Sandy Bay Part 1 When you first arrive you will see Spat and Barrette. Spat will notice you and run away with Barrette.
Go two screens to the left and say 'Lookie' to the Hamster who is soaking up rays. Now use 'Tack-Q' on him and he will teach you 'Bizzaroo.' Then go to Broski and say 'Lookie', he will tell you that he doesn't know Barrette, strange. Now go up and to the right twice and say 'Hamha' to the excited hamster. She will teach you 'Tinglie.'

Now go to the restrooms by the Ferris wheel and say 'Fussfuss' to Ham Red, but he wont go on with the show! Looks like you'll have you'll have to find another person to put on the show. Now take a quick stop back at Boo Manor, but first go to the 'Digdig' It place and go over to the instruction board and use 'Hamteam' to learn 'Goodgo'.
Boo Manor Part 3 Go to the third floor and enter the room all the way to the right and say 'Gasp-P' to the painting on the wall. The boy's mother is actually Ham Red! Now return to Fun Land. Keep walking around until you hear the PA system say that it is almost time for the show. After the PA system sounds go to the Ham Rangers show room and say 'Hamha' to the hamster blocking the gate. He will tell you that some of the Ham Rangers are missing. This time you have to find different Ham Rangers one of them is to the left and down.
Say 'Fussfuss' and he will go to put on the show. Now go to Stickie Note and say 'Fussfuss' to the blue hamster there.
Now go to the restrooms again and say 'Fussfuss' to Ham Red. This time he will go to the performance arena. Go to the Ham Rangers Show again and when you leave the hamster in the entrance will give you the song 'Go Ham Rangers.' But don't worry because he runs in a circle. At one point a hamster named Bog will trap you in a cage thinking that you are a hot spring egg. He will let you go.
Say 'Hamteam' to him and he will help you catch Cappy. Now chase Cappy around until you get back to Bog. Bog will drop the cage on Cappy, now say 'Bluhoo.'
Next say 'Yep-p' Bog will let Cappy out of the cage and you will be transported to Sunny Peak. Cappy will return the hat and a new friendship will be formed hurray! They will teach you 'Hamboree.' Now once again return to the Wild Woods. When you get back you will see Bog pacing back and forth say 'Ta- Dah' and he will receive the hot spring egg.
In return he will teach you 'Clingie.' Now go down and to the right and stand on the rock and use 'Clingie.'
You will see Jingle sitting on a rock playing music. Go over to him and say 'Wait-Q.' And he will teach you 'Thank-Q' and return to the wedding. Walk on to the stump and say 'Clingie.'
Now go back to where the hamster taught you 'Wait-Q' and you will see a short seen. Spat has interrupted the wedding!
He stole the red marble from the couple, now they may never be together. Now go to the left and you will see a hamster crying say 'Hamha' to him, and then 'Minglie' he will be so happy with you that he will teach you 'Bye-Q.' Go into the hut on the left and say 'Hamha' to the blue hamster to learn 'Hulahula.' Now go to the cabin on the right and buy the rubber band from the ham swap seller. Now leave the village and you will be hit by a rock from the Bulls eye Kid. Now go to the left twice and then down once.
Say 'Heyhoo' to Spat and he will throw a stick at you. It's forked, excellent for a slingshot.
Now go back to the village but this time enter the house to the right and say 'Putput' to the hamster there and he will make you a slingshot. Now go into the village and to the right and you will see a short seen with the bullsye kid. Now leave the village and you will be hit with another rock. The bullsye kid will teach you 'Hamscope.' Now right after he hits you hit the A button and choose 'Hamscope.' Be shore to aim at him then hit A. He won't bother you any more!
Now go back to where you last saw Spat and use 'Hamscope' to hit the beehive above his head and the bees will chase him away right into the river. He will drop the red marble in his hurry to escape so 'Hif-hif' it to pick it up. Now return to the wedding and say 'Hamha' to the hamster next to the couple and the red marble will be returned. The wedding is saved! Another love is added to your meter. They will teach you 'Vast-T.' Go over to the hamster doing the funky dance and say 'Hamha' he will give you the red marble.

Say 'Hamha' to his wife to learn that she has seen it at Sunny Peak so, that's our next stop. Sunny Peak Part 3 Go to the mine cart and use 'Gogo' to ride to the secret spot and go down and into the room there. Use 'Putput' in front of the sword Excalibur 3 times.
Now pull it out. It's the legendary spoon! Now go back to the inventor's house. Wild Woods Part 3 Once inside the inventor's house say 'Ta-dah' to his wife and she will give him the part.

But, Oh no the parakeet gang has taken the fruit and the only way to get it back is to hit the green bird in the middle two times by using 'Hamscope'. Once this is accomplished use 'Hif-hif' to get the fruit.
Now go back to where the sick monkey was and Bog will give him the fruit. They will teach you 'Might-T' and their love will be reunited! The monkey will realize that it was you who made him sick in the first place and he will chase you off the screen. Now go back to the clubhouse and talk to Harmony. He's gone off to Spat Tower! (Wow, he has a tower named after him, impressive). Well, here we go again.
Spat Tower Part 1 Upon entering Spat Tower go over to he spot with the leaves and say 'Sesam-E' 'Lookie' 'Stickie' and 'Heyhoo' Ect, but you will not be able to enter because the draw bridge can't be opened from there so you'll need to go back to the Wild Woods and borrow the Hamapult 2 from the inventors house. Wild Woods Part 4 Go to the inventor's house and say 'Hamha' then 'Yep-p' and he will move the Hamapult 2 to Spat Tower. Spat Tower Part 2 Stand by the Hamapult 2 and use 'Gogo' then 'Stickie' and you will fly over the wall. A short seen involving Spat will follow this. Once over the wall the gray hamster will tell you not to enter and will not let you pass through the door.
Go over to the doorway and enter. When you are inside you will hear something so go to the door and use 'Perskie.' Then go back out and say 'Passchat' then 'Liber-t' and 'Yep-p' and he will let you pass. Once you enter you will see Spat's 'Secret weapon' The Haminator 3000.
Use 'Hamscope' and you will learn that they don't work against him. He will hit you with a tornado and you will spin out of the room. He mentioned something about a Love Shot and the hamster outside will tell you that Harmony makes them.
To exit you must first go over to the green button and say 'Gogo' now you have to complete the puzzle to get out. Once you do the gate will be open permanently. Back to the clubhouse (again,.sigh.) At The Clubhouse Go up the stairs and say 'Hamha' to Harmony then say 'Chuck-chuck' and 'Hamteam'. Then you will receive.(drum roll please) the love shots! Now go back to Spat Tower, And this time go with a plan. Spat Tower Part 3 Her is the plan: Use 'Hamscope' and hit Spat. He will begin to get nervous because he recognizes the love shots.
So when the robot opens his mouth (wham) hit him in it with a love shot and then boom, he'll be blown to pieces, but beware of his tornados and laser eyes!! Out of the machine will pop Spat wearing a Harmony outfit (this is the time to have a good laugh)! Spat will fly away once more and this time for the last time. He will teach you 'Pooie' as he flies off.
Suddenly Harmony will come in and congratulate you this will be followed by a small dance. However you still have to join the two hamsters outside! Go outside we have to fix this mess!! Go back to the clubhouse and talk to Boss and he will give you the last board that you need for the bridge.
Now it's off to find Panda. Sunny Peak Part 4 Go over to Panda and say 'Hamha' and he will take the 3 boards and the rubber band. Walk around a bit until you hear him call 'Heyhoo' once he is completed say 'Hamha' to him and he will teach you 'Hamtast.' Now walk across and 'tack-Q' the large boulder and a key will fall 'Hif-hif' it and be on your way, back to the clubhouse. Go over to Postie and give him your card for the entry to the contest then leave the clubhouse and return and Postie will be waiting with a package for you.

Once you do go into the accessory room and make the 'Pooie' earrings then go back to the princess and give her the earrings by saying 'Ta-Dah' she will reward you with the star key! Harmony will go down stairs, follow her and say 'Hamha' to her to learn 'Lalala.' Now walk over to Snoozer and say 'Hamha' and he will teach you 'Zuzuzu.' Now it's back to Sandy Bay. Sandy Bay Part 3 Go to Sandy Bay and then take the boat over to the island and enter the hula contest. In the second round mimic your opponents but use 'Hulahula' at the beginning instead of Gasp-p and in the third round use Greatchu Delin-Q Zuzuzu Hamtast Bye-Q Goodgo Bloat-T Blushie Hamtast Dazzlie Lalala When you have completed this Harmony and Boss will come and teach you the final hamchat word 'Hamcheer' Congratulations you have all 86 Hamchat words!
